Alice Buchanan is a multi instrumentalist, musician, and music instructor based in Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, music has long been a part of Alice’s life. Both of her parents are musicians: her father, a band director; her mother, a Suzuki Piano instructor. Alice’s own musical practice began early at age 5 when she began violin via The Suzuki Method. Her dedication to music deepened in her teens, as she formed rock bands and played in the Memphis Youth Symphony.
Her passion for both classical and rock and roll led her to study Music Education & Violin at Middle Tennessee State University. After graduating with her Bachelor’s of Music in Education in 2010, Alice continued playing violin, touring the world with rock bands, and teaching violin, piano, and guitar.
Alice is currently an active member of NYC’s music scene and continues to teach music to students of all ages. During her spare time, you can find Alice playing with her cat Freddy, cooking for friends & family, and reading voraciously.
